On Tuesday, the 69th Regiment Armory played host to the 11th Annual Jeffrey Fashion Cares. Hosted by Jeffrey Kalinsky, president and CEO, Jeffrey New York/Atlanta, and vice president and designer fashion director of Nordstrom. The evening was a-buzz with models, celebrities and fashion industry leaders, all in support of charities benefiting the LGBTQ community. Since it’s inception in 1992, the benefit has raised over $11 million for charities and non-profit organizations, and last night increased that total to the tune of $669,811. A silent auction and cocktails were followed by a energetic live auction (a trip to Paris Fashion Week including two business class flights and tickets to the Givenchy fashion show estimated at a value of approx $9,000, sold after a heated two-way bidding war, for a whopping $32,000!), Rob Smith was presented with the Jeffrey Fashion Cares Community Leadership Award by Steve Madden for his contribution to LGBTQ causes, and a runway show featuring many of the top male models in the world brought down the house. Sponsors of the event included Nordstrom, Audi and the CFDA.
